This is the desk's mechanism graph, drawn exactly as it is curated: 10 nodes, 8 directed edges, 4 documented channels. A claim may call a link mechanical only if it cites one of these edges. Everything else must be measured, or say it is conjecture.
Six steps, in strict order. The first four are arithmetic and storage. A model appears only at step five, and step six exists to check it.
Articles and factor observations are hashed over their normalized text and appended. Nothing is ever updated or deleted; a correction is a new row. When it happened and when we learned it are separate columns.
